Indy's answer to mass transit always seems to be more buses. We are the largest city in the country without a passenger rail system. Bring back the inter-urban!

Having just relocated to Indy a few months ago, I was saddened to see how casually trees were cut down in the downtown core to make way for development. I was also surprised at the number of open space parking lots that sit empty most of the time. I looks like better zoning/development practices would go a long way here to preserve the larger, older trees that beautify the urban landscape and to reduce the number of large, barely used parking lots that decrease the density needed to a support a thriving city.

Indianapolis is blessed with amazing Parks, yet has been poorly funded for many years. A collective goal to make the Parks System one of the finest in the country would greatly enhance the City's reputation, and quality of life for it's citizens.

I appreciate this forum for sharing ideas and hopefully sparking action. I wish more people had access to this and that it was promoted so that others could find it. I think these conversations need to happen more often among people who are able to put into words their ideas and put into action their words.
