Indy's answer to mass transit always seems to be more buses. We are the largest city in the country without a passenger rail system. Bring back the inter-urban!

I was also surprised at the number of open space parking lots that sit empty most of the time. I looks like better zoning/development practices would go a long way here to preserve the larger, older trees that beautify the urban landscape and to reduce the number of large, barely used parking lots that decrease the density needed to a support a thriving city.

Indianapolis is blessed with amazing Parks, yet has been poorly funded for many years. A collective goal to make the Parks System one of the finest in the country would greatly enhance the City's reputation, and quality of life for it's citizens.

Read MoreThis Center will house a satellite program for the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University allowing for their Graduate Programs to study down in Indianapolis as well as studios for Third and Fourth year programs to study. I see this as an opportunity for Indianapolis to house a design center that can educate the public, through workshops, lectures, tours, and events on what design excellence or good design is. Professional Organizations that represent Design professions (AIA, ASLA, APA, IIDA, etc.) can be housed in one location. This will allow for these organizations to work together on issues that need to be brought up at the state and city level of government. Finally, it brings an Architecture school in way of Ball State's CAP program, previously stated above, to Indianapolis. Indianapolis is one of two cities within the TWENTY largest cities in the United States that doesn't have an architecture program within its limits. More to come!
